Tuning your guitar

Tuning your guitar may be tough to do by ear so if I were you I would get a tuner. The biggest string (a.k.a. 6th string) should be the note E. The 5th string should be the note A. The 4th string will be D. The 3rd string should be G. The 2nd string is B. The 1st string is also E. If you get a tuner and you play the string and it doesn't have the right note then try to tighten it or loosen it until it is the right note. Hope this helps!

Picks

There are many different brands and kinds of picks. Personally I like the brand 222 but there are many more kinds you may pick the kind you enjoy. There are also many sizes of picks. Thick, Medium, and Thin. Different sizes are good for different things. Some songs are good for picks, other songs are good to just finger pluck.

Introduction to guitar

The guitar had it's stages. It started out at around 1850 B.C.. It was seen played by many Egyptians. The electric guitar was later invented. When I mean later I mean way later! I myself am a fan of the electric but I started out playing the acoustic. I recomend starting out with the acoustic because it is just more a beginner instrument. Once you have been playing guitar for a while sure you can move on. I am just saying start with acoustic. Above is a picture of the guitar and it's parts.
